“BUCA DEL BANDITO” and the ELBA TRAIL AREA ”

Departure directly from the hotel to Cima del Monte. We will ride on a difficult and fast way through a  dense forest, which is located between Volterraio in the North, Cima del Monte and Campo della Valle in the South.

The “Vignola” path is a very varied and demanding route with rough terrain, suitable for the rough wheel profiles of our bike. This is the first rearranged trail at Elba Trail Area and takes its name from an old building near a mill.

The “Laghetto Rosso” trail begins at the foot of Mount Giove (here we will find the ruins of a 15th-century military fortress). Immediately on the left, a wide path leads through a holm oak forest into Rio Albano valley. At this point, the path becomes narrower and we will reach a denser and characteristic forest area. Once out of the forest, after a short distance, we will admire the Laghetto Rosso, which is characterized by the particular color of its red-purple water.

With “Scalette” path everything changes: from a simple track suitable for warming up to a track that never lets go. Difficulty and slope will increase until the end of the road to Falconaia and to the beautiful beach of Bagnaia, then back to the hotel.

  • Duration: half day.
  • Distance: the distance and the elevation gain of the track can vary according to customers request.

ENDURO CUP – GULF OF LACONA

Departure directly from the hotel. We climb up to the GTE (Great Elba Crossing) until we reach the Zedda trail, test track of the Enduro E-Bike Cup. We will ride down to the beach of Lacona and then return to Mount Tambone. Then we will take the Capo Fonza path, a pristine peninsula, nestled in the natural park of the Tuscan archipelago with its characteristic landscape.

We will start near an ancient stone stable for goats, to master the steep slope of these rocky tracks. In this stretch of the trail the low vegetation is typically Mediterranean.

A sandy straight leads us to the second half of the path, which consists of narrow hairpin bends and steep, technical climbs in a undergrowth of holm oaks. The ground is fairly compact, but there are also passages between stones and pebbles.

The last part leads us to the old Segagnana way, with its rocks and sandy channels.

It’s one of the most beautiful and wild routes of the island, crossing intact and unspoilt countryside and pine forests, reminiscenting the Alps.

“Masso alla Quata” is located on a beautiful, gently sloping path, from which you can admire the beautiful landscape degradating to the sea. In the midst of these huge granite rocks and dense forests, it is no rarity to discover moufflons with their powerful horns. Then we will meet some amusing downhills that were the scene of the Tuscany Enduro Cup race; then a beautiful single track amid granite (Sassi Ritti) to the wonderful Cavoli beach.
